Three Weeks Into Starting a Business I have Learned…
- You don’t need a lot of money to start with.
- You learn who supports you and who doesn’t.
- There’s plenty of self-doubt but you learn to put it aside.
- “Fake it ‘til you make it” is an art.
- Waking up motivated and inspired to work is so much different than working at a job you hate.
- Accountability starts and ends with me.
- More people are willing to help you out than you know.
- Your network is pretty much the key to your success.
- I should be more social.
- Not everyone wants to be an entrepreneur. They still deserve respect.
- Stay humble.
- Try everything.
- SEO is helpful but it’s just another tool in the toolkit.
- Go after the big accounts.
- Don’t be afraid to be “expensive.” Expensive is a state of mind and it’s a different number for everyone.
So far, I’m having a great time. I’ve gotten run-arounds, rejections, and some delays in several processes. But I have also had the joy of opening my first box of business cards, updating my LinkedIn profile to Owner, landed my first account, and received a wonderful amount of support from my loved ones.
